Established in 1997, zappa wines is one of New England’s finest producing award winning winery. The vineyard is situated in the picturesque Dumaresq Valley, west of Tenterfield at the foot of the Great Dividing Range. |

Three generations of the Zappa family have been involved in the establishment of what is now a large mixed farming property, all beginning when Martin and Amelia Zappa, and Martin’s two brothers Tony and Guilio arrived from Italy in the late 1940’s to work as cane-cutters in North Queensland. Today the property sustains 300 cattle, 5000 super fine wool merino sheep, 140ha of fresh produce, 250 ha of cereal crops and a 20 ha vineyard. The vineyard known today as Dumaresq Valley Vineyard overlooks the Dumaresq River and its extraordinary surrounding valleys west of historic Tenterfield.
Zappa Wines is displaying a passion for the production of premium wines and in a short period of time have achieved so much; registered vineyard and winery for “New England Australia” wine region, a range of award winning wines at major wine shows, wines awarded 4 and 4 ½ stars by wine critic James Haliday, well established vines grown on trap rock and clay mingled soils producing premium wines, exporting wines to Japan, providing major wineries with premium fruit, a newly built climate controlled winery with the latest in wine making equipment, and a newly built cellar door where you can relax, taste a range of wines while enjoying the peaceful country atmosphere or perhaps take in a winery tour with the winemaker. |

The label represents the combined accomplishments of three
generations establishing a successful diverse farming enterprise.
The artwork on our label, which features blocks, represents the
foundations of a futuristic vision applied by first generation – Martin and Amelia Zappa. The artwork also displays the blocks interlocking as a combination of strength, bond, and attributes of all generations in which has lead to a vision of yester year a reality today.
The Zappa passion has helped create a range of truly great wines vintage to vintage.
